July 31 – August 4, 2024 –

Join me at the beautiful Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health
for this special Silent Meditation Retreat. Explore the Depths of Silence.

“Know from the rivers in clefts and in crevices: those in small channels flow noisily, the great flow silent. Whatever’s not full makes noise. Whatever is full is quiet.” – Buddha

In the 21st century when stillness and silence are hard to come by, fast-paced living keep us constantly bouncing from one task to another. What would happen if you were to just sit and be? What would come up for you in the spaces between your thoughts, your breath, your heartbeat?

Join gifted teacher, celebrated author, and documentary filmmaker, Hawah Kasat, and explore the depths of silence and solitude. Hawah will guide you with a culturally sensitive soft touch and a big compassionate heart toward the bounty of silence. Through both guided and silent meditation practices, pranayama, dharma talks, and light movement, you will work on the transformational and liberating act of “stilling the monkey mind”.

This retreat is suitable for those who have never taken a vow of silence and want to explore what it feels like to observe noble silence, as well as veteran silent retreaters who want to tune up their senses of awareness and perception.

NOTE: For most of this retreat, participants will be encouraged to take a vow of noble silence—so there will be no writing, reading, or talking. There will be certain hours of the day when writing will be permitted and a Q&A will take place. Some days and time periods even eye contact with others will be discouraged.
